Trivia and History
The service area with Topaz branding, pictured in 2016.
The service area opened on 9 June 2011. It was developed privately following delays to the National Road Authority's plans for their own developments.
It is effectively a large forecourt built in the corner of the junction, where there is plenty of space for more devleopment. The main building is like a typical forecourt sales shop, albeit now filled with counters and an upstairs dining area. The shop had an additional entrance by one of the car parks. Very close to this is a stand-alone McDonald's building, with further parking sprawling around them.
