Entrance to the Nando’s restaurant at Cobham, situated right of the main entrance at the front of the amenity building, & definitely the most obvious brand here. Nando’s being a popular & well-known name to British town/city centres means it will attract motorists from the road. Nando’s opened at Cobham in 2017 in a new extension, thus Nando’s didn’t replace another restaurant. This was Extra’s 2nd Nando’s with the 1st opening at Beaconsfield in 2014. Nando’s was hurt at Cobham in 2019 when PizzaExpress opened, providing competition between these two “restaurant” type brands. Nando’s menu is no different here than a high street outlet. Nando’s opening here makes Cobham appear more like a destination than a roadside stop and although most customers just expect to eat fast food at service stations, Nando’s still picks up trade as it’s a popular brand. Nando’s was fairly busy during my visit. Nando’s is not signposted from the M25 as Cobham has many facilities to signpost, but Nando’s is both advertised lots around the site and on totem poles, in addition to being extremely obvious from the front of the amenity building.
