LEON outlet at Cobham, situated to the left of the food court, close to Pizza Express. It’s a large unit which uses space previously occupied by 2 Welcome Break units (Tossed & Harry Ramsden’s) as well as a miniature seating area. LEON has, essentially, cut off most of this area as it was never that popular & could afford to be downsized. LEON is operated by SSP here as Extra only lease the unit. LEON provides customers a range of “healthier” fast food options. They are open throughout the day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner & provide coffee for motorists. LEON obtains a small seating area of its own. LEON is a very obvious outlet here, with its large and highly raised name & logo. Pricing of LEON is inflated at services, making it unsuited for those who can’t afford or don’t want to spend more on food. LEON is successful as it’s a recognisable, high street brand which will attract trade to Cobham, an already packed service area. LEON was going to be installed at more Extra sites, but the unfortunate timing of 2020 meant lockdown stopped their spread, so LEON can only be found at 3 of Extras 8 sites. LEON was moderately busy during my visit. LEON is not signposted from the M25, but is frequently advertised around the site and is included on the totem pole for Cobham.
