New Hybrid unit at Fleet Northbound, situated amongst other food brands in the food court area, opposite seating. Welcome Break appear to have adopted this idea from Roadchef, with their Breakfast Kitchen/Chozen Noodle units and Moto, with their Breakfast@Arlo’s/Chow units. This is a sensible, space saving idea as it reduces empty units closing for the day. Good Breakfast being a morning brand and Chopstix being afternoon means the pair easily operate in these Hybrid units. Hybrid units also mean additional brands can be installed in spaces left, where two brands now trade from one unit, however, this wasn’t the case at Fleet North. McDonald’s closed here in 2020 following lockdowns, and was left boarded up between 2020-2021. McDonald’s took up lots of space here as it had its own seating, so a massive “chunk” of the food court was no longer in use, until 2021 when a refurb happened here and Burger King, Good Breakfast/Chopstix and more seating were all installed. It’s a rather small unit, but does its job. Chopstix and Good Breakfast aren’t as well known as the other food brands at Fleet North (BK/KFC/Subway/Pret) so likely loose some trade to them, but it’s good Welcome Break included the pair here as without these units, you wouldn’t be able to get a hot, full breakfast or noodles. This hybrid unit lacks its own customer seating, so customers should use the communal seating. You can purchase Krispy Kreme donuts from this unit as well. Chopstix was trading during my visit, and was fairly quiet considering the custom levels for the rest of the amenity building. Good Breakfast and Chopstix Noodle Bar are not signposted from the M3 Northbound, but are advertised around the site itself.
