The permanently closed Fresh Food Cafe unit at Clacket Lane Westbound, located amongst customer seating within the food court section. It’s been closed since earlier this year and isnt lined up to become anything else (the only possibility would be LEON but that’s already opened here). It closed due to low trade. Fresh Food Cafe is a rare example of a sit-down concept still being used by Roadchef, but would lose out to high street brands, especially McDonalds. Fresh Food Cafe closing here is somewhat emblematic of the entire site. It once was clean and fresh and a site that was enjoyable to use, but Roadchef seem to be investing their money elsewhere and Clacket Lane seems to have been forgotten. Fresh Food Cafe was signposted from the M25 until LEON replaced it on the signpost in 2020 when it first opened at the site. It’s a large unit that Roadchef have to fill in here.
