Chopstix noodle stand at Cobham, located opposite the main entrance within the food court, near customer seating. Chopstix opened in Oct 2023 (only been here for 2 months) and replaced a Chozen Noodle/Sushi unit which ceased trading in September. This occurred as Chozen Noodle was acquired by Chopstix earlier in 2023 with more Chozen Noodles to be converted into Chopstix noodle bars. The benefit of this is Chopstix is more commonly found in the UK, so more people will recognise it at services, increasing its popularity as customers generally stick with recognised brands. It’s a small unit, priced more inflated than high street chopstix locations. Oddly, this unit has always been placed near Tapori, which is Indian street food. This proximity between two similar brands essentially facilitates competition as customers are forced to make a choice within a smaller range. It’s a colourful, welcoming unit. Chopstix does take up a section of customer seating here. Along with El Mexicana & WCP, this units reducing the size of the seating area makes it very difficult to be seated during busier periods, such as today. Chopstix was moderately busy during my visit with a few customers around. Quieter than other units at the time. Chopstix isn’t signposted from the M25, but is included on totem poles around the site and is frequently advertised.
