Special versions of the department store BHS (stylised as BHSexpress) were introduced in 2001 when Moto was first established.
Moto wanted to use BHS to continue Granada's aim to create mini-shopping centres by introducing brands people recognised. These were usually provided in extensions to the building. Sales were described as "disappointing", and Moto's strategy changed to using fewer brand names, but popular ones that would attract passing motorists.
The brand became formally defunct in the UK in 2016.
